Dusk and Dawn: Artmaking on Orford Ness
This overnight event allows participants to engage with fleeting light of sunrise and sunset at this incredible landscape. Respond to the changes of hue, texture and opacity over land, sky and sea as the sun sets and rises.

This workshop will include overnight accommodation on the Ness. We will walk across the Bailey Bridge to the shingle spit at sunset and sunrise to capture the changing light across the incredible landscape of Orford Ness.
This workshop is led by internationally exhibiting artists Jane Watt and SE Barnet who are both Senior Lecturers in Fine Art at University of Suffolk. Watt and Barnet use a range of media in their art practice including drawing, lens-based media, installation and performance.
Jane has undertaken a range of projects over the last three decades, including largescale commissions and workshop programmes for University College London, John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford and Darwin Green in Northwest Cambridge.
Susan has developed research groups such as radical re Think at University of Arts, London and worked on projects with the Mass Observation Archive.

The basics

- Suitability
Not suitable for children.
- Meeting point
Meet on Orford Quay at 2.45pm for a ferry crossing at 3pm on Saturday. Return ferry on Sunday at 9.30am. Park in public pay and display car park (not NT).
- What to bring and wear
Bring food and bedding for your stay - a fully equipped, shared kitchen is available. Accommodation is in shared bunkhouse rooms. Dress for sudden weather changes. Wear good walking shoes.
- Accessibility
Includes ferry crossing - must be able to negotiate steep, and sometimes slippery, steps. Mostly made up paths, sometimes uneven.
