Take your little explorers on a woodland adventure at Clent Hills. You’ll find seasonal trails and events, as well as information to help plan your day and some fun, free ideas to get your family outside in the beautiful Clent Countryside.

Car park closing time

The car park closes at 5pm, Monday - Sunday.

Autumn Trail

Enjoy a crisp walk with the kids this autumn as you find sights and sounds that show the season has changed; ticking them off your trail sheet as you go. At the end of your walk, talk to the welcome team and pick up your autumn helper prize!

You’ll also find a recipe for making a pinecone birdfeeder on the back of our trail leaflet. So you can help birds in your garden this autumn and winter.

To take part in our autumn trail, talk to the welcome team at the trailer on Nimmings Wood carpark.

It’s £2.50 per map, if you’d like the prize. If you don’t want a prize at the end, let the team know and they’ll happily share the trail sheet for free.

New Waymarked Trails

Be some of the first to walk our new way-marker trails! From October half term, there are two new trails for visitors to try - with more come.

For little legs we’d recommend the Buzzard trail. If you're looking for a slightly harder trail, you could try The Rabbit Trail. You can click the links below to view each map online, or you can ask for a physical map from the welcome trailer at Nimming Wood car park.

Planning your family visit

  • There are toilets and baby-changing facilities behind the independent cafe at Nimmings Wood carpark.
  • Wellies or walking boots are always recommended.
  • Deer roam freely at certain times of the year and are wild animals – please don't get too close or try to touch them.
  • You can pick up a sensory bag for both adults and children from the trailer at Nimmings Wood carpark. They have a selection of weighted items, textured items, fidget poppers and ear defenders.
  • We’d recommend bringing along some drinks and snacks. Alternatively, there’s a family run, independent café at Nimmings Wood carpark, which provides a selection of hot and cold drinks and food. There’s also a picnic area just behind the café, near the natural play area.
  • Dogs are very welcome at Clent Hills, so the whole family can visit! If you’d like to know more about visiting with your dog visit, Dog walking at Clent Hills | National Trust
  • The natural play area is currently closed.
