Dogs welcome in the main garden, but must be kept on a lead at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the walled garden.
Drop off point. Lower car park has limited mobility parking. 50 yard walk to garden entrance with sloped gravel path. Level access to The Bothy tea-room opened on request. Lower parts of garden accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Gravel and grass paths. Steep gradients with steps in upper gardens. Adapted toilet near tea-room.

Parking: Lower car park 50 yards, upper car park 250 yards. Parking charges apply (COINS only). NT Members and Blue Badge holders park free. Charge for a car is £3 for up to 3 hours or £6 daily.

An 18th-century coalfield transformed into a hidden woodland garden covering eight acres.

From the walled garden’s humble beginnings as a kitchen garden, the woodland garden’s acres of heritage to our natural playground, there’s something for everyone.
Colby’s wooded valley is teeming with creatures great and small. Look out for birds, bugs, very rare bats and even the occasional otter.
Follow woodland paths, discover historical features, and enjoy plenty of wildlife on this family trail, with the option of a longer walk to Amroth beach.
A great clifftop walk for wildlife watching plus sweeping views out to sea, and you may even be lucky enough to spot dolphins or porpoises offshore.
Look out for seabirds and otters as you take in some of the finest wildlife habitats in Pembrokeshire on a wildlife walk along the coastline at Stackpole.
A favourite with locals and visitors alike, the Bothy Tea-room serves delicious lunches and mouth-watering cakes and the Loft Gallery sells hand crafted local products. Our Visitor Centre has a second hand bookshop and souvenirs for the garden.

Set in a tranquil secret valley this hidden woodland garden with a rich industrial past is full of surprises.
Spring brings carpets of bluebells, crocuses, and daffodils, then swathes of camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas, followed by hydrangeas and the summer wildflowers.
Enjoy shady woodland walks, the wildflower meadow and colourful walled garden in summer, and the marvellous colours of acers, dogwoods and sweet-gum in autumn.
Explore the meadow with its lovely stream, stepping stones, log bridge and abundant dragonflies and butterflies.
Build dens in the woods, cook your own food at one of our campfires or play on the rope swings, or why not just bring a picnic, let the kids play in the stream and relax?
